Who's Playing

No. 11 Indiana @ No. 15 Iowa

Last Season Records: Iowa 6-2; Indiana 6-2

What to Know

The Iowa Hawkeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers will face off at 3:30 p.m. ET Sept. 4 at Kinnick Stadium to kick off their 2021 seasons. The Hawkeyes finished last year at 6-2 and will now try to light the spark for another quality season. Likewise, after a 6-2 record last season and an appearance in the Outback Bowl, IU is coming in with an eye to spark another quality season.

A couple numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Iowa was 10th best in the nation in rushing yards allowed per game, finishing the 2020 season giving up only 107.6 on average. Less enviably, IU was 13th worst when it came to rushing yards per game last year, with the squad coming up with only 108.6 on average (bottom 91%). The good news for IU, of course, is that these forces working against them might not carry over into the new season.

Iowa is the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. A win is hardly a sure thing, especially this early in the season, so expect a good game.
